Hi. My name is Jerry Kennedy. I’m a follower of Christ, the founder of Purpose Local, and the host of the Purpose Driven Local Business Podcast.

Technically, I am a doctor. I always like to joke that I’m not a “real doctor.” I’m just a chiropractor…or at least I was. I owned and operated a successful chiropractic practice for 9 years in Southern Illinois.

One of the things that I learned about myself over my time in practice is that I loved the business side of being a chiropractor more than I loved the chiropractor side of being a chiropractor.That makes me an oddball because it’s the exact opposite of how most chiropractors feel.

Most chiropractors are excited about being chiropractors but end up getting stuck doing business and marketing. In fact, a LOT of local business owners find themselves in the same boat. They love doing their work and providing a particular service. The business side of things is sort of a drag. If that sounds like you, you are definitely NOT alone.

After 9 years in practice, I decided to close my office. I started helping other chiropractors with the business and marketing side of things as a business and marking coach/mentor. I know what it’s like being a young business owner. Growing any business is hard, even if you know what you are doing. If you don’t really know what you are doing, it’s SO MUCH harder.

What’s The Purpose?

This brings me to Purpose Local and the Purpose Driven Local Business Podcast. Over the last several years, I have had the opportunity to help (both chiropractic and non-chiropractic) local business owners grow their businesses. I wanted to create a space specifically for Christian local business owners because I have a heart for seeing fellow Jesus followers thrive. 

I believe that when Christian business owners thrive, they are put in a position to make a greater impact for the Kingdom. My desire with purpose local and the Purpose Driven Business Podcast is to help Christian local business owners connect and grow their businesses, see them become leaders in their local communities, and help them have a greater impact for the Kingdom.
